Background & Education

A native of Southeast Michigan, Mr. Witenoff’s interest in the law led him to professional opportunities throughout his home state, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C. His passion for cultures beyond his own has manifested in travels through countries in Africa, Europe, as well as North and South America. Translating this interest into his studies, Mr. Witenoff majored in Social Relations and Policy and minored in African and African American Studies at Michigan State University, from which he received his undergraduate degree in 2015. While at Michigan State, he served as a mentor to underclassmen through the James Madison College Mentorship Program and held a position on the executive board of the public policy writing organization, Roosevelt Institute.

Mr. Witenoff received his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School in 2021, focusing his studies on access to justice through class action lawsuits and criminal justice reform. As a student at Vanderbilt, he served as the president of the American Constitution Society, a board member and student mentor for the Law Students for Social Justice, and as a founding board member for the Voting Rights and Advocacy Society. During his second year, Mr. Witenoff served as a research and teacher’s assistant for the director of Vanderbilt’s Legal Writing and Research Department. As a research assistant, Mr. Witenoff researched and drafted the model answer for the following year’s final legal writing assignment. As a teacher’s assistant, Mr. Witenoff taught legal writing concepts to a class of international law students. It was his relationships with these students that inspired him to explore a career in immigration law.

In his current role with Antone, Casagrande & Adwers, Mr. Witenoff practices in the fields of individual-based, family-based, and humanitarian immigration matters, as well as cases at the intersection of criminal and immigration law. He also has experience in skills-based, employment-based, and business-based immigration – having worked on cases involving L-1 intracompany transferees, H-1 temporary workers, and J-1 visiting scholars and trainees, among others.
