Background & Education

Justin D. Casagrande graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1997 in the top third of his class. Mr. Casagrande also obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1993.

While at the University of Michigan, Mr. Casagrande studied subjects such as organizational behavior, multinational business, and international relations that provided him with a thorough background in these fields and prepared him for the practice of law. In pursuing his legal degree, Mr. Casagrande focused his studies on International Law and business/corporate concerns.

Experience

Mr. Casagrande’s scope of practice in various fields of immigration law, as well as for a wide variety of organization types, allows for a comprehensive analysis of immigration needs and solutions. Having practiced in nearly all areas of immigration law provides Mr. Casagrande with a full view of the interactions between the range of family and employment visas in the U.S, allowing for a complete analysis of potential solutions.

Mr. Casagrande’s practice in the field of business immigration has touched on nearly all aspects of this field, including businesses of all sizes, and employees at all levels of the organizations. He has represented corporations in many fields of endeavor, such as automotive, IT, agriculture, health care, manufacturing real estate, law, and various other fields. Within these substantive fields, he has assisted with multinational executives, people of extraordinary ability, individuals with advanced degrees, intracompany transfers, and international visitors. This assistance has been provided on an organizational level, such as strategies for employee immigration assistance for the corporate workforce and directly to individual employees.

Mr. Casagrande provides assistance for family-based applications, including family preference categories, fiancé visas, adoption, VAWA, and dependent family issues, including Child Status Protection Act and similar analyses. Mr. Casagrande also works with organizations and individuals in non-business settings. This includes religious workers and organizations, trainees, students, visitors for pleasure, and individuals seeking protection in the U.S. after assisting law enforcement.

He provides assistance to clients seeking family reunification through Consular Processing or Adjustment of Status, as well as providing litigation assistance to individuals facing removal for various reasons, such as immigration violations and convictions, including immigrant waivers and alternatives. Additionally, he has represented clients with complex family-based claims to status, including non-immigrant waiver issues, when entry is needed for either business or personal reasons.

Mr. Casagrande represents clients with USCIS, USCBP, Immigration Courts, Federal Courts, and at Embassies throughout the world.  Each agency has particular legal requirements, and his breadth of experience provides insights to the particular requirements in each location.
