Background & Education

Since entering the immigration field in 2012, Lisa has worked on a broad range of employment- and family-based cases.  She has significant experience with a high-volume, corporate immigration caseload consisting of H-1B, L-1, and TN nonimmigrant petitions; PERM Labor Certifications; and I-140 employment-based immigrant petitions.  She frequently prepares employment and family-based adjustment of status applications and related cases (such as associated work and travel authorization applications and I-751 petitions to remove conditions on marriage-based green cards), as well as naturalization (citizenship) applications.  Additionally, she supports business travel and assists with applications for dependent family members.  Her experience includes E-1/E-2/E-3 applications, H-2B and H-3 petitions, J-1 applications, and various types of waivers (Conrad-30, hardship, national interest).

Lisa earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in English literature from Oakland University.  She spent three years at Boston University working toward a doctoral degree and teaching literature and writing courses for the university as a graduate teaching fellow before leaving the program to return to Michigan and pursue work outside of the academy.

Lisa’s work in the firm and in the immigration legal field continues to be informed by her study of American literature, her commitment to excellence in writing, and her dedication to teaching and learning.
