Background & Education

In 2021, Iyah Youssef received her B.S. in Biology and Spanish from the University of Michigan. In 2020, she was part of an Advanced Culture and Language Study Abroad program in Granada, Spain.

After receiving her B.S., she continued her education at the University of Illinois College of Law, receiving her J.D., Cum Laude, in 2024. During her time there, she focused on gaining immigration law experience. She was a board member of her school’s Immigration Law Society, a clinician at the Immigration Law Clinic at the College of Law, and an American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) student member.

As a clinician, she appeared in family court to win a guardianship case as a prerequisite for an I-360 Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) application. In the fall of 2022, she interned at the Immigration Project, interpreting client calls and preparing for bond proceedings. During the summer of 2023, she interned at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC) working on the Afghan Arrivals Team, interviewing clients and helping prepare adjustment of status packets. In her last semester at the College of Law, she interned at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, focusing on asylum and “crimmigration” matters, drafting a pre-trial asylum brief.

Ms. Youssef began her career in removal defense. She has appeared in Immigration Court and primarily worked on I-589 applications, EOIR-42B applications, bond proceedings, I-360 applications, and I-765 applications. At Antone, Casagrande & Adwers, she focuses her practice on family and skills-based immigration matters, as well as helping with removal issues.
